De Torensluis (The Tower Lock) is both one of the oldest extant bridges in Amsterdam and one of the widest canal bridges. The tower that gave the bridge its name hasn’t been here since 1829, but this is a city that holds onto things. If you look carefully at the stones of the bridge, you can still see where the tower stood.
